DNLU Jabalpur Celebrates 80th Independence Day; Vice Chancellor Highlights Fundamental Rights and Nation-Building

Jabalpur, 15 August 2026: Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour on 15 August 2026, with the university community coming together to commemorate the occasion.

The Independence Day celebrations at Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha. The ceremony was followed by the singing of the National Anthem by all those present.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sinha paid heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of India’s freedom struggle and remembered the sacrifices that paved the way for the country’s independence. He also reflected on India’s journey since 1947, noting its steady emergence as a strong and self-reliant power on the global stage.

Vice Chancellor Highlights Fundamental Rights and Nation-Building

During his address, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha underscored the importance of the Fundamental Rights enshrined in the Constitution, describing them as the bedrock of Indian democracy. He also spoke about the country’s growing role in shaping a robust and inclusive economy.

The Vice Chancellor called upon students to imbibe the values of discipline, integrity and service. He urged them to actively participate in the process of nation-building through their academic pursuits and their future professional endeavours as responsible citizens and legal scholars.

Registrar Addresses Gathering

Registrar Dr. Praveen Tripathi also addressed the gathering and extended his best wishes to everyone present on the occasion. He urged members of the university community to carry forward the ideals of freedom and duty in their daily lives and work.

The message reinforced the significance of translating the values associated with India’s independence into everyday conduct and responsibilities.

Finance Controller Smt. Sarita Rawat, along with other faculty members, administrative staff and students, was present during the celebrations.
