Department of International Law and Organisation, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU), is organising a One Day International Conference on “United Nations and the Changing Global Order: Emerging Challenges, Peace, Human Rights and Sustainable Governance (UNCGO)” on October 26, 2026, in hybrid mode. Interested participants are invited to submit their full papers by October 15, 2026.
About the University
The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU) was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu through Act No. 43 of 1997 and was inaugurated on September 20, 1997, by former President Shri K.R. Narayanan.
Recognised by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission, TNDALU is India’s first sui generis Law University. The University offers legal education through the School of Excellence in Law in Chennai and its twenty-seven affiliated colleges across Tamil Nadu, including undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D. and LL.D. research programmes.
About the Department
The Department of International Law and Organisation is one of the first Post Graduate Departments established in 2003 at the School of Excellence in Law.
The Department serves as an academic and research hub for International Law in South India. Its curriculum combines traditional areas such as Public International Law, International Law of Organisations and Private International Law with emerging areas such as International Space Law.
About the Conference
The One Day International Conference on “United Nations and the Changing Global Order: Emerging Challenges, Peace, Human Rights and Sustainable Governance (UNCGO)” seeks to commemorate the 81st United Nations Day by examining the changing nature of the United Nations, its inherent incapacities and its continuing indispensability.
The conference will explore the transformation of the United Nations from a political organ into a legal organ and examine its expanding role in areas including peace and security, human rights, development, humanitarian affairs, international law, climate change and global governance.
Through expert-led discussions and interactive sessions, the conference seeks to foster a nuanced understanding of the United Nations, including its structural challenges, contemporary initiatives and continuing role as a platform for international cooperation and collective action.

Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts need not be submitted separately. The abstract must be included on the first page of the full paper.
- Abstract: 200–300 words, briefly explaining the research gap, research methodology and research outcome, with not more than five keywords.
- Short Article: 3,000–5,000 words, excluding footnotes. Submissions shall not exceed 5,000 words.

- Joint authorship is permitted for up to two authors only.
- Authors must not mention their details anywhere in the submitted article. Author details should be provided only through the registration Google Form.
- Graphs, figures and tables, if any, must form part of the body of the text and should be appropriately numbered.

Note: In case of co-authorship, each author is required to pay the respective registration fee.
Selection of Papers
Only 30 papers out of all submissions will be selected for presentation at the conference.
Registration
Registration and fee payment shall be completed only after the authors receive intimation regarding the selection of their full paper.
Certificates
All presenters will receive certificates of participation in hard copy or soft copy, depending upon the mode of presentation.
Best Paper Award
The Best Paper will be selected on merit and will receive a Certificate of Best Paper and a cash award of ₹5,000.
Publication Opportunity
All selected papers shall be published as an edited book with an ISBN number. Publication details will be communicated in due course after completion of the conference.
