The former Bihar Chief Minister to walk of Jail: Jharkhand High Court

Bail granted to the former Union Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav by the Jharkhand High Court on April 17, 2021. The matter termed as the Dumka Treasury case as one of the cases revolved around the fodder scam due to which the former Union Minister was convicted. 

The order dates back to 2018, where the former Chief Minister, through a special CBI court, sentenced to a fourteen year of meticulous imprisonment behind the matter. It is one of the four fodder scam cases in which Lalu Prasad Yadav convicted. Also, Yadav was granted bail on the three other proceedings previously. 

Yadav expected to step out of jail with bail in the present matter. In October 2020, Lalu Prasad Yadav granted bail concerning the Chaibasa Treasury Scam case, followed by February 2020, where he got bail concerning the Deoghar Treasury Scam case. Moreover, the Doranda Treasury case trial is still ongoing. Lastly, the advocates representing Yada are Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal and Advocate Adit S Pujari.
