SC says farm laws will stay for now

The Supreme Court has recently decided to stay on the passing of the controversial farm bills passed by parliament. Since there will be major opposition against this judgment, the 3-judge bench headed by CJI Bobde decided to set up a committee. This Committee will be composed of professionals like Bhupinder Singh Mann, Pramod Kumar Joshi, Ashok Gulati, Anil Ghanwant, and others. This Committee’s m to resolve the dispute between the protesting farmers and the Central Government. The Committee should file a report within two months before the Supreme Court. During the court proceeding, CJI Bobde told Attorney General K.K. Venugopal and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, both who represent the Centre, that the Centre did not take proper action with these laws. The court also said that the  MSP system will continue to exist. The CJI also said that the farmers can continue their protest since it is their right to do so.
