Maharashtra Government revokes lockdown exemptions in Mumbai and Pune

The Maharashtra Government has revoked the lockdown exemptions and relaxations in Mumbai and Pune as a large number of people are still commuting despite the nationwide lockdown. Mumbai and Pune are the worst affected in the state.

A notification has been issued which states that e-commerce operators are allowed to ply their vehicles with necessary permission. Also e-commerce delivery of essential commodities, medicines, food and pharmaceutical products have been allowed.

The door-to-door delivery of newspapers and magazines has been prohibited in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and all containment zones as decided by the District Magistrates.

Maharashtra is the most-affected state in the country with a total of 4669 coronavirus cases and 232 deaths.
