
Khaitan & Co to Expand Hyderabad Presence with Addition of Partners Basava Rao and Shabbeer Ahmed
The India’s leading law firm, Khaitan & Co is set to strengthen its Hyderabad office with the onboarding of Partners Basava Rao and Shabbeer Ahmed, as part of the firm’s continued expansion in South India.

Basava Rao
He brings of experience in corporate and commercial law, with a strong focus on venture capital and private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring advisory.
He is currently a Partner at TLH Advocates & Solicitors and has previously held senior roles at leading firms including Nishith Desai Associates and IndusLaw, where he developed deep expertise in corporate advisory and transactional practice.
He holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree in Corporate Law from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (2003–2008).
Shabbeer Ahmed
He brings more than 17 years of experience in complex litigation and dispute resolution, advising multinational clients across diverse sectors including banking & finance, infrastructure, real estate, and insolvency.
He is currently a Partner at IndusLaw and has previously worked with Kochhar & Co., Fox Mandal & Associates, and Amarchand Mangaldas. His practice includes representation before High Courts, NCLT, civil courts, consumer forums, arbitration tribunals, DRTs, and other quasi-judicial bodies. He is also actively involved in insolvency matters under the IBC framework, representing financial creditors, operational creditors, and resolution professionals.
He holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from National Law Institute University, Bhopal (2003–2008).
