Khaitan & Co Advised IRFC on ₹13,527 Crore Financing to L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad)
The leading law firm in India, Khaitan & Co acted as lender’s legal counsel to Indian Railway Finance Corporation Limited (IRFC) for financial assistance of ₹13,527 crores provided to L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited for the purpose of, inter alia, refinancing existing debt of the company in relation to the development of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project.
The financing supports the implementation of a rail system spanning 71.16 km on elevated structures across Miyapur to L. B. Nagar, Jubilee Bus Station to Falaknuma, and Nagole to Shilparamam corridors in Hyderabad on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (“DBFOT”) basis. This transaction marks a significant refinancing in India’s urban transit sector.
The Firm advised on structuring of the deal and drafting and finalisation of financing documents.
