High Court of Uttarakhand has invited applications from eligible law graduates and final-year law students for engagement as Law Researchers on a contractual basis. Interested candidates must submit the prescribed Google Form by August 3, 2026.

About the Recruitment
Applications are invited from candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed under the Scheme for Engagement of Law Researchers in the High Court of Uttarakhand.
The engagement will be purely contractual, and the selected Law Researchers will be attached to the Hon’ble Judges of the High Court.

Educational Qualification
- The candidate must be a graduate in law from a duly recognised law school, college, university or institute established by law in India.
- The candidate must be eligible for enrolment as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India.
- Final-year students pursuing a three-year or five-year law degree may also apply.
- Final-year students must furnish proof of acquiring the required law qualification at the time of the interview or before taking up the engagement as Law Researcher.
- The candidate must have good working knowledge of computers.
Age Limit
The candidate must not be more than 30 years of age as on the date of submitting the application.
The age requirement may be relaxed in appropriate cases by Hon’ble the Chief Justice upon the request of the Hon’ble Judge concerned.
Salary / Remuneration
The selected Law Researcher will receive a fixed monthly honorarium of ₹50,000 or such honorarium as may be revised from time to time.
No other allowance or perk will be payable.
Duration of Engagement
- The engagement will be on a purely short-term contractual basis for a period determined by the Hon’ble Judge concerned.
- The engagement may be extended up to three years or until the retirement or cessation of office of the Hon’ble Judge concerned, whichever is earlier.
- In exceptional circumstances, the engagement may be extended up to four years, subject to satisfactory performance.
Selection Process
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their applications.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an assessment prescribed by the Hon’ble Judge concerned under the applicable Scheme.
- The Hon’ble Judge concerned may decide whether or not to call an applicant for an interview.
- The final selection will be made by the Hon’ble Judge to whom the Law Researcher is to be attached.

- Enter the required personal, educational and other details.
- Submit the Google Form on or before August 3, 2026.
Applications submitted through any mode other than the prescribed Google Form will not be accepted.

Important Instructions
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The candidate must not be engaged or appointed elsewhere on an honorarium or payment basis on the date of joining.
- The candidate must not have been involved in any pending or decided criminal case concerning an offence involving moral turpitude.
- The candidate must not be facing disciplinary proceedings before the Bar Council of India, the concerned State Bar Council or any other authority.
- Incomplete applications and applications not fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be rejected without intimation.
- No TA or DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
- The contractual engagement will not confer any right or claim for regular appointment or continuation beyond the engagement period.
- A Law Researcher may be discharged prematurely without notice.
- A Law Researcher intending to leave prematurely must provide at least one month’s prior written notice through the Private Secretary of the Hon’ble Judge concerned.
- The selected candidate must sign the prescribed Undertaking/Declaration before joining.
