About the Internship :
LegalPay is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join their dynamic legal team. This role is designed for senior law students who possess a strong foundational understanding of commercial laws and are eager to gain hands-on experience in high-stakes litigation, commercial recovery, and alternative dispute resolution.
Eligibility :
(i) Students currently enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. program from a recognized university.
(ii) Demonstrated interest in corporate litigation, insolvency proceedings, and commercial dispute resolution.
(iii) Exceptional legal drafting skills with a keen eye for formatting and precision.
(iv) Proficiency in legal research databases (SCC Online, Manupatra, etc.).
(v) A proactive mindset, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and a high level of professional discretion.
Responsibilities:
(i) Strategic Analysis: Assist the team in analyzing litigation funding opportunities and assessing the legal merits and recovery potential of commercial claims.
(ii) Case Tracking & Compliance: Monitor the status of ongoing litigation across multiple jurisdictions, track hearing dates, and assist with document collation and annexure preparation for court filings.
(iii) Brief Preparation: Prepare case notes, date-wise summaries, and briefing documents for senior counsels and internal reviews.
(iv) Comprehensive Case Research: Conduct in-depth legal research on complex propositions related to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), company law, commercial recovery, and contract disputes.
(v) Drafting & Vetting: Assist in drafting a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, plaints, written statements, legal notices (such as Section 138 NI Act notices), and various interlocutory applications.
