
GMR Enterprises Appoints Shashank Kumar as Chief Legal Officer – Corporate Function
GMR Enterprises has appointed Shashank Kumar as Chief Legal Officer in its Corporate Function, marking a key strengthening of its in-house legal leadership team.
Shashank Kumar brings more than 26 years of extensive experience spanning the power, steel, renewable energy, infrastructure, and media sectors. He has developed deep expertise in legal strategy development, regulatory compliance, litigation management, M&A transactions, and structuring cross-border contracts. Throughout his career, he has advised on complex, high-value matters and supported large organisations in effectively managing legal and regulatory risks.
Prior to joining GMR Enterprises, he served as Head – Legal at Sembcorp India. Earlier, he held senior leadership positions at Adani Power and Jindal Steel & Power, where he led end-to-end legal operations, regulatory matters, and high-value transactions across the infrastructure and energy sectors.
At GMR Enterprises, he will focus on strengthening corporate legal strategy, compliance frameworks, and risk governance, supporting the Group’s continued expansion and infrastructure growth.
