
DLA Piper expands Energy and Natural Resources M&A team with Johannesburg partner appointment
The Global law firm, DLA Piper has announced the appointment of Patrick Leyden as a Partner in its Johannesburg M&A team, further strengthening the firm’s Energy and Natural Resources practice and enhancing its capabilities to advise on complex cross-border transactions across Africa.
Patrick Leyden joins the firm from HSF Kramer, bringing nearly two decades of experience advising clients across the African continent. His practice focuses on M&A transactions and regulatory matters in the natural resources and energy sectors, where he has built a strong domestic, regional, and cross-border practice.
The appointment forms part of DLA Piper’s broader global expansion strategy within its Corporate practice, following several strategic partner hires across key international offices, including London, Hong Kong, Washington DC, and Johannesburg.
