Eligibility
The call for papers is open to students, academicians, and research scholars in Law, Public Policy, Humanities, and Management.
Categories of Submissions
Authors may submit manuscripts under the following categories:
- Articles: 5,000–8,000 words
- Case Comments: 2,000–4,000 words
- Book Reviews: Up to 1,500 words
The above word limits are generally exclusive of footnotes and abstract.
General Manuscript Guidelines
- Abstract: All submissions, except Book Reviews, must include a comprehensive abstract of up to 300 words, accompanied by 4–5 relevant keywords.
- Originality: Manuscripts must be original and unpublished. Submissions currently under consideration elsewhere will be summarily rejected.
- Co-authorship: Co-authorship is permitted up to a maximum of two authors per submission.
- Format: Submissions must be strictly in Microsoft Word format (.doc/.docx).
Formatting Guidelines for Main Text
- Font Style: Times New Roman
- Font Size: 12 pt.
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Alignment: Justified
- Margins: 1-inch margins on all four sides of an A4 size page
Heading Structure
- First-level headings: Numbered I, II, III, etc. (Capitalized & Bold)
- Second-level headings: Numbered A, B, C, etc. (Title Case & Bold)
- Third-level headings: Numbered 1, 2, 3, etc. (Title Case & Italicized)
Citation and Footnote Guidelines
All citations must be made using footnotes. Endnotes and in-text citations are strictly prohibited.
- Font Style: Times New Roman
- Font Size: 10 pt.
- Line Spacing: 1.0 (Single spacing)
- Alignment: Justified
- Citation Style: Authors must uniformly follow ILI Citation Style. Speaking footnotes are discouraged.
Plagiarism and AI Policy
- All submissions will be mandatorily subjected to strict plagiarism and AI-generation checks using industry-standard software (e.g., Turnitin).
- Submissions exceeding the acceptable similarity index limit (generally <15%, excluding standard legal phrasing and quotes) will be summarily rejected.
- The author(s) bear full responsibility for the accuracy of all facts, citations, and information presented in the manuscript.
Peer Review Process
APPLR follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure high academic standards.
- Tier 1 – Preliminary Screening: Initial assessment to ensure that the manuscript aligns with the journal’s themes, word count limits, formatting guidelines, and clears the plagiarism check.
- Tier 2 – Substantive Review: The manuscript is sent to anonymous peer reviewers and the Editorial Board for a comprehensive evaluation of originality, analytical depth, coherence, structure, and legal accuracy.
- Tier 3 – Final Decision: Authors may be asked to incorporate suggested revisions. Final acceptance is contingent upon the satisfactory incorporation of these changes.

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically via email to [email protected].
The subject line of the email must strictly adhere to the following format:
“Submission – [Manuscript / Case Comment / Book Review]”
Anonymity: To facilitate the double-blind review process, the main manuscript file must not contain any identifying information, such as the author’s name, institution, or contact details.
The Word file of the main manuscript should be named “APPLR_V2_I1”.
Cover Letter
Authors must include a separate cover letter in the body of the email or as a separate attachment, detailing:
- Title of the submission
- Name of the Author(s)
- Designation and Institutional Affiliation
- Contact Number and Email ID
- A brief declaration stating that the manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere
