Squire Patton Boggs has hired a three-member team of private equity lawyers in Paris as it builds its PE bench in Europe. Partner Arnaud Lafarge has joined along with associates Nicolas Leveque and Eva Jouannic.

Paul Mann, the head of Squire’s European PE group said that the firm had led new teams in the UK, Spain, Italy, and France. It would soon have one in Germany. It also brought in several new clients and strengthened the existing ties in the sector.

Tony Reed, the head of Squire’s corporate practice for EMEA, said his hire would strengthen the firm’s transactional capabilities in France and reinforce its position in the global corporate mid-market.

Dual qualified in New York and Paris, Lafarge has over 15 years of experience in advising funds and private and listed companies on complex, cross-border transactions. He is also an expert in public M&A and securities laws.

Co-head of the corporate practice at Lamy Lexel until now, Lafarge joined the firm in 2019 as a partner. Prior to that, he worked as a senior associate with DLA Piper for nearly seven years, and before that was an associate at Paul Hastings.

Lafarge’s appointment is the eighth partner hire in the Paris office since last summer. The firm now has 20 partners and a team of 30 counsels and associates.
