Amber Allen Joins Eversheds Sutherland As Counsel In Investment Services & Products Practice
Eversheds Sutherland has announced the appointment of Amber Allen as Counsel in its US Investment Services & Products Practice Group. Based on her extensive experience, Ms. Allen will strengthen the firm’s ability to advise asset managers on a wide range of regulatory issues, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, privacy and cybersecurity, and adviser compliance programs.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Ms. Allen served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Fairview, LLC, a provider of compliance consulting services for investment advisers, mutual funds, and other financial institutions. In that leadership role, she oversaw several teams that developed and implemented compliance programs tailored for large and complex registrants, offering guidance on regulatory compliance, industry best practices, and examination preparedness.
In 2019, she led the launch of Fairview’s cyber solutions practice group, where she also served as General Counsel and President. This group provided cybersecurity and data security consulting focused on SEC-registered investment advisers.
Ms. Allen is an active industry participant, serving on the Board of Directors of the National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP), and is the Deputy Chair of its Governance Committee as well as a member of its Conference Committee.
Commenting on the appointment, Cliff Kirsch, Partner and US Head of Investment Services & Products, said,
“We are thrilled to welcome Amber to our Investment Services & Products team. Amber’s impressive track record in financial services compliance and her commercial acumen make her a valuable addition. Her inhouse legal and broader industry leadership experience focused on cutting-edge regulatory trends will greatly benefit our asset manager clients, including for managing rapid legal and regulatory changes.”
Ms. Allen’s work also spans areas such as organizational cyber and data security programs, GDPR compliance, business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response protocols. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US).
I’ll be focused on the changes in DC and advising RIAs and private funds on a wide range of legal and SEC regulatory matters, including cyber and data security, privacy, fund formation and oversight, and drafting policies and procedures to align with evolving SEC requirements.
Said, Amber Allen.
