Abhilash Pillai Moves from CAM to Trilegal as Real Estate Partner
The India’s leading law firm, Trilegal is set to strengthen its Real Estate practice with the addition of Abhilash Pillai as Partner, who has resigned from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.
The firms have been approached for official comments on the development.
Abhilash Pillai is a 2004 graduate of Government Law College, Trivandrum, and brings over two decades of experience in real estate and corporate advisory.
He advises on complex real estate transactions across India, including acquisitions, joint ventures, development arrangements, monetisation structures, title diligence, and regulatory compliance. His practice primarily focuses on supporting institutional investors, developers, and asset owners in high-value and structured transactions.
At Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, he has been a Partner in the Real Estate practice since 2017, having earlier served as Principal Associate. Prior to joining CAM, he spent nearly a decade with MNK Law Offices, where he worked extensively on real estate, private equity, M&A, and general corporate transactions. He began his legal career with Chambers of Mohinder Saini, focusing on criminal law practice before Delhi courts.
Over the years, he has been involved in conducting legal due diligences across multiple sectors, including real estate, infrastructure, manufacturing, education, and financial services, along with advising on regulatory and compliance frameworks for domestic and international clients.
Abhilash Pillai’s move to Trilegal marks a significant lateral shift in the real estate legal market, reflecting continued senior-level mobility within top-tier law firms and strengthening Trilegal’s real estate practice capabilities.
