Eligibility
Professor
A candidate applying for the position of Professor must demonstrate distinguished academic standing, sustained scholarly excellence, leadership, and substantial contribution to the advancement of knowledge, institutional development, and academic leadership.
- A PhD in the relevant discipline from a recognised university.
- A minimum of 10 years of teaching, research, or equivalent distinguished academic/professional experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentorship, curriculum development, pedagogical innovation, and academic leadership.
- A distinguished and sustained research profile evidenced by substantial scholarly publications and recognised academic contributions.
- Evidence of disciplinary influence, scholarly leadership, and institutional contribution.
Associate Professor
A candidate applying for the position of Associate Professor must demonstrate established excellence across Teaching, Research, and Service.
- A PhD in the relevant discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 5–8 years of teaching, research, or equivalent academic/professional experience.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness and academic engagement.
- A strong and consistent research profile evidenced by high-quality scholarly publications and related academic contributions.
- Evidence of doctoral supervision, research mentorship, institutional service, and academic leadership.
Assistant Professor
A candidate applying for the position of Assistant Professor must demonstrate strong potential and competence across the three core dimensions of Teaching, Research, and Service.
- Demonstrated teaching competence or potential, including prior teaching experience, curriculum development, innovative pedagogy, or evidence of effective classroom engagement.
- A developing research profile evidenced by scholarly publications, book chapters, monographs, policy papers, conference presentations, or equivalent academic contributions.
- Evidence of institutional, academic, or professional service.
- Active engagement in research collaborations, conferences, externally funded projects, interdisciplinary initiatives, or academic networking.
- Alignment with the University’s broader mission of teaching excellence, research innovation, collegiality, and institutional contribution.
Lecturer
A candidate applying for the position of Lecturer must demonstrate strong foundational competence in Teaching, Research Potential, and Institutional Engagement.
- A Master’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognised university.
- Prior teaching, industry, professional, or research experience relevant to the discipline shall be viewed favourably.
- Evidence of research aptitude, including publications, conference papers, research assistance, or participation in scholarly activities.
- Preference may be given to candidates with peer-reviewed publications, active research engagement, or demonstrated academic promise aligned with disciplinary expectations.
- Demonstrated contribution to student mentoring, academic support, institutional activities, or professional engagement.
Academic Dean, JGLS
JGLS greatly values candidates with:
- Minimum 5 years of academic work experience at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in a reputed higher education institution.
- An exceptional academic and administrative record with demonstrated leadership in academia.
- Proven experience in curriculum design, academic planning, accreditation processes, and quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of pedagogy, interdisciplinary education, and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Ability to oversee academic policies, faculty coordination, student learning outcomes, and institutional effectiveness.
- Experience in managing academic governance, assessments, programme reviews, and regulatory compliance.
Director (Office of Applied Legal Studies)
JGLS greatly values candidates with:
- A distinguished record in mooting, advocacy, legal research, and experiential legal education.
- A minimum of 5–10 years of academic, professional, or equivalent experience in legal education, litigation, advocacy training, dispute resolution, or moot court administration.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and preparing students or teams for national and international moot court, mediation, negotiation, arbitration, or client counselling competitions.
- Strong expertise in oral advocacy, memorial drafting, legal reasoning, courtroom strategy, negotiation, and dispute resolution practices.
- Experience in organising and managing moot court competitions, ADR events, negotiations, client counselling, and advocacy-related programmes.
- Strong academic, judicial, and professional networks.
- Demonstrated leadership in building a culture of competitive advocacy, teamwork, discipline, ethics, and professional excellence.
