National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi, is inviting registrations for the 1st NUALS International Negotiation Competition (NINC) 2026, to be conducted online. The competition is open to students from universities in India and abroad and carries a total prize pool of ₹65,000. Interested teams can register for the preliminary round by September 15, 2026.
About NUALS Kochi
The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) is located in Kochi, Kerala. It was established under Act 27 of 2005 of the Kerala State Legislature. NUALS offers a five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme and a one-year LL.M. programme. Admissions are conducted through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
About the NUALS ADR Society
The competition is being organised by the NUALS ADR Society, which was established in 2024 to manage and facilitate alternative dispute resolution activities at the University.
About the Competition
The NUALS International Negotiation Competition (NINC) 2026 is the inaugural edition of the competition and seeks to establish negotiation as an important alternative to traditional litigation. The 2026 edition focuses on the intersection of technology and its influence on negotiation and dispute resolution. The competition will begin with a Negotiation Plan Elimination Round. The top 16 teams emerging from this round will advance to the knockout stages comprising the Octa-Finals, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Final.
Eligibility
The competition is open to students from universities in India as well as abroad.
- Each team must consist of exactly two members.
- One member will participate as the Client.
- The other member will participate as the Counsel.
- Cross-institutional teams are permitted.
Mode of the Competition
The competition will be conducted entirely online through Zoom Workspace.
Registration Procedure
Registration for the competition will take place in two phases.
Preliminary Registration: Teams must complete the registration form and attach proof of payment of the preliminary registration fee by September 15, 2026.
Advanced Rounds Registration: The 16 teams qualifying from the Negotiation Plan Elimination Round will be required to register separately and pay the advanced round fee by October 1, 2026.

- Preliminary Registration for National Teams: ₹3,540
- Preliminary Registration for International Teams: ₹4,130
- Advanced Rounds: Additional ₹4,130 for all qualifying teams, irrespective of the team category
