Tandon & Co. Merges With Aretha Legal To Establish A Multi-Service Law Firm With A Nationwide Presence

Tandon & Co. has officially announced a strategic merger with Aretha Legal, marking the union of two firms known for their complementary strengths in litigation, regulatory advisory, and commercial law. The result is a full-service law firm with a pan-India presence and integrated practice capabilities under a single umbrella.

This merger brings together the legacy of Tandon & Co., a firm established in 2007 by Kunal Tandon—recently designated as a Senior Advocate by the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi—and the dynamic team of Aretha Legal, founded in 2022 by Ray Vikram Nath, Nitin Gera, and Prashant Kumar.

Tandon & Co. has spent nearly two decades building its reputation in litigation, dispute resolution, white-collar crime, and regulatory matters. Aanchal Tandon, who was leading the firm as Managing Partner, has earned wide recognition for her strategic litigation advice and courtroom expertise. As part of this merger, she now takes on the role of Senior Partner at Aretha Legal, bringing her formidable experience to a broader platform.

Aretha Legal has rapidly gained prominence for providing business-centric legal solutions across various domains such as litigation, real estate, cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, corporate advisory, and project finance. The merger positions Aretha Legal as a multi-service powerhouse, with integrated capabilities to address the diverse needs of its clients.

Commenting on the merger, Aanchal Tandon, Senior Partner of Tandon & Co., said,

“For me, this merger is a watershed moment in my professional journey, and yet it feels deeply personal! When I first met the team at Aretha Legal, I was struck by their clarity of thought, commercial acumen, and the sincerity with which they approach client work. Our conversations were never about just combining practices, but about building something meaningful, a law firm where diverse strengths come together to serve clients better, and where young talent can grow with purpose. I’ve always believed that the best legal work happens when lawyers care about the client and the outcome, while enjoying the process. And in Aretha Legal, I found partners who care just as deeply. Together, we are building a future-ready firm.”

In a joint statement, Ray Vikram Nath, Nitin Gera, and Prashant Kumar, Founding Partners of Aretha Legal, shared,

“This merger represents much more than a coming together of two firms; it’s the alignment of people who believe in something larger than themselves. When we began Aretha Legal, we set out to create a space where legal advice was strategic, business-aligned, and always in tune with the client’s journey. Over time, we realised that our clients also needed the kind of litigation and regulatory support that Aanchal and her team excel in. From our very first discussion, it was clear that our values aligned. Personally, for the three of us, it feels like we’re beginning a new chapter with renewed energy, deeper purpose, and a lot of respect for what each of us brings to the table.”

As a result of the merger, Aretha Legal now operates with 7 Partners and has expanded its footprint with offices in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Cochin. The integration process is already underway, with practice groups, internal systems, and operations being aligned for a seamless transition and collaborative workflow.
