Suchana Mukherjee joins Danone India as General Counsel
Suchana Mukherjee, previously Senior Counsel at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), has joined Danone India as General Counsel and Director – GS for CS, Regulatory, Public Affairs and Corporate Communications.
A 2009 graduate of the University of Calcutta and an LL.M. holder from the National Law School of India University (2011), Mukherjee brings over 15 years of diverse experience across the FMCG and automotive sectors.
At HUL, she was instrumental in developing legal strategy for the Foods business, steering regulatory compliance to de-risk the portfolio, and driving some of the country’s most well-known claims. Prior to HUL, she served as Regional Legal Head for Tata Motors’ Western India operations, overseeing both commercial and passenger vehicle businesses.
Reflecting on her transition, Suchana Mukherjee shared,
“It isn’t an easy task to pen down a departure note about a place that you reckon as your second home. Hindustan Unilever – an institution that has given me some of my greatest teachers, fiercest supporters, and closest friends. As a world class legal function, I’m immensely proud of the household names we’ve built together with our brilliant cross functional colleagues — and even prouder of the growth we’ve inspired in one another!
As I turn the page to a new chapter, I carry with me some invaluable lessons, endless laughter, and a deep belief in what’s possible. I may no longer swipe my access card daily, but I’ll be cheering for HUL in every aisle and every boardroom.
