King & Spalding Adds Partners Andrew Ong and Amadou Kilkenny Diaw to Expand IP and Tech Litigation
The global law firm King & Spalding has expanded its Business Litigation practice with the addition of intellectual property and technology litigators Andrew Ong and Amadou Kilkenny Diaw as partners. Ong will be based in San Francisco, while Diaw will join the Washington, D.C. office.
Ong’s practice focuses on complex technology disputes involving patents, trade secrets, and contracts for high-tech companies. He regularly practices in federal courts and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including handling inter partes reviews and reexaminations. He has extensive experience across technologies such as network devices, design automation software, data storage, and semiconductor chips. Ong previously served as a law clerk in the Northern District of California and holds a J.D. from UCLA School of Law as well as an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and computer science from UC.
Diaw represents defendants and plaintiffs in federal courts, at the PTAB, and in arbitrations and mediations in complex intellectual property disputes, including patent infringement and trade secret matters. He also counsels founders, startups, and established companies on IP-related issues. His experience spans multiple industries, including cloud computing, hardware and software, wireless networking and communications, and consumer products. His clients have included Fortune 100 companies in the computing and telecommunications industries, as well as emerging and high-growth technology companies. Diaw received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and an undergraduate degree in computer science from Georgetown University.
Both Ong and Diaw join King & Spalding from Goodwin Procter, where they practiced alongside Neel Chatterjee, who joined the firm in July as partner and co-leader of the IP team.
Damien Marshall, co-leader of King & Spalding’s Business Litigation practice group, said,
“Expanding and elevating our IP litigation and technology industry capabilities nationwide is a priority for King & Spalding. The addition of this team is a big step in that process. Andrew Ong, said,
“King & Spalding is a litigation powerhouse with closely interconnected practices and a strong commitment to growing its IP and technology litigation, and I am excited to be part of that.”
Amadou Kilkenny Diaw, said,
