Khaitan & Co has ramped up its technology, media and telecoms (TMT) practice in Mumbai with the hire of Bengaluru-based IndusLaw partner Tanu Banerjee.

Banerjee had been at IndusLaw since 2017, and had been promoted in 2019 to partner.

The 2008 Symbiosis graduate is the first specialist Mumbai-based TMT partner.

“She will be a great addition to our niche TMT practice,” commented Khaitan executive director HR, Amar Sinhji.

“We foresee tremendous growth in the TMT practice with the impact that the Covid-19 crises has had on the telecom (and related technology & media) industry. There is always a silver lining to every dark cloud!,” he added. “Our TMT practice, like all other practices, operates as a national practice and Tanu’s joining will increase our national footprint substantially.”

IndusLaw commented: “We are wishing her the best.”
