Jaishree Tolani Joins Godfrey Phillips India as General Counsel
Godfrey Phillips India has appointed Jaishree Tolani as its new General Counsel, succeeding Rajesh Nair, who has stepped down from his position as Vice President – Legal.
Tolani brings with her over 14 years of experience at AZB & Partners, where she held the role of Partner until her departure in December 2023. Following her exit, she practiced independently and was also associated with AZB & Partners in the capacity of ‘Of Counsel.’
Her practice spans a diverse set of legal areas, including mergers, acquisitions and restructuring, venture capital and private equity funds, banking and finance, capital markets, litigation, and corporate advisory. Throughout her career, Tolani has advised prominent corporate clients across a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, e-commerce and retail trading, BFSI, media & broadcasting, telecom, aviation, healthcare, hospitality, renewable energy, and education.

Tolani, a 2008 law graduate from Sir L.A. Shah Law College, began her career at KPMG before joining AZB & Partners in 2010, where she spent over 14 years developing deep expertise in corporate, M&A, and regulatory matters.
