
Former Velsera GC Annabelle Newman Joins Sciensus as General Counsel & Group Company Secretary
Sciensus has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Annabelle Newman as General Counsel & Group Company Secretary. In her new role, Newman will lead the company’s legal, governance, and company secretarial functions, supporting the executive team and Board while ensuring robust frameworks across key European markets.
Newman brings over 25 years of experience in corporate legal leadership, governance, regulatory strategy, and enterprise risk. She joins Sciensus from senior roles at Velsera and Syneos Health, where she managed multinational legal teams and played a key role in large-scale transformation programs.

Throughout her career, Newman has demonstrated expertise in delivering commercially focused legal advice across complex environments. Her prior roles include Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, Head of EMEA Legal at Syneos Health, and General Counsel at Velsera. She began her career in corporate law with BG Group (a Royal Dutch Shell company), progressing from paralegal to legal counsel while advising on multinational asset governance, commercial contracts, and compliance.
In her role at Sciensus, Newman will support the company’s position as a trusted partner to pharmaceutical companies and healthcare organisations, overseeing legal and governance matters while enabling the company’s growth and innovation agenda.
