Find the answer only on Legal Bites. [Explain the legal word Ante mortem and Mortuary]

Answer

Ante mortem and Mortuary

In practice, there are two types of injuries involved in forensic pathology; ante-mortem injuries and post-mortem injuries. Ante-mortem injuries occur before death whereas post-mortem injuries occur after death. Therefore, ante-mortem refers to events occurring prior to death.

On the other hand, Mortuaries in English law are referred to as a sort of ecclesiastical heriots, being a customary gift claimed by and due to the minister, in many parishes, on the death of the parishioner.
