Eversheds Sutherland Advised Pulse Clean Energy on Landmark £220 Million Financing for Battery Storage Expansion

The Global Law firm Eversheds Sutherland has advised Pulse Clean Energy on securing a landmark £220 million financing package with a syndicate of leading banks, including Santander, NatWest, ABN AMRO, NORD/LB, Investec, and CIBC.

The transaction will enable Pulse Clean Energy to:

  • Refinance existing debt,
  • Construct six new battery energy storage system (BESS) sites,
  • Convert former diesel sites into clean energy assets, and
  • Support nine ongoing clean energy projects.

With a planned operational capacity of 2GWh by 2030, this financing represents a major milestone in the UK’s battery storage revolution. The deal will enhance grid resilience, accelerate the energy transition, and unlock long-term cost savings for consumers.
