
The Centre for Corporate Laws and Governance (CCLG) at Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, successfully organised the 1st Corporate Law Summit 2025 on 15–16 November 2025 in a virtual format. The two-day event brought together prominent scholars, legal experts, and practitioners from across India to delve into the evolving landscape of corporate law, governance, and regulation.
The Summit was inaugurated with an address by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, who underscored the rising significance of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), sustainability, and ethical decision-making practices within the corporate framework. His keynote set the tone for thoughtful deliberations on pressing challenges and global shifts in corporate laws.
The event featured two high-profile panel discussions. On Day 1, the panel consisted of Mr. Vikas Kumar Jha, Partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, and Prof. (Dr.) Kiran Rai of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU). Day 2 featured Prof. (Dr.) Kondaiah Jonnalagadda from Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (MNLUCSN), Prof. (Dr.) Girjesh Shukla from Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) Shimla, and Mr. Anchit Oswal, Partner at Khaitan & Co. Together, the experts explored key issues such as ESG governance, greenwashing practices, white-collar crimes, cross-border insolvency, AI and digital accountability, and emerging regulatory frameworks.
In addition to the panel discussions, the Summit hosted nine technical sessions with over 80 research paper presentations by students, academics, and practitioners from across the nation. Leading law firms including Khaitan & Co., Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, and Trilegal also participated, offering insights into the practical and regulatory aspects of corporate legal practice.
Organised under the guidance of Dr. Shruti Nandwana, Director of CCLG, the Summit marked a successful and enriching milestone for DNLU. The Centre extended its sincere gratitude to all the panelists, participants, and members of the organising committee for making the Summit a landmark event. With discussions that addressed contemporary challenges and future trajectories, the Corporate Law Summit 2025 set a strong foundation for future academic and professional collaborations in the realm of corporate law and governance.
