Baker McKenzie Announces 59 New Partner Promotions Effective July 2025

The global law firm Baker McKenzie has announced the promotion of 59 lawyers to partner, effective 1 July 2025, across its international offices—excluding North America and select Latin American jurisdictions, where partner elevations took effect earlier this calendar year.

With an additional 48 lateral partners joining the firm this financial year, Baker McKenzie has added a total of 107 new partners globally since 1 July 2024.

The Transactional practices saw the largest number of internal promotions, followed by Dispute Resolution and Tax. Significantly, 47% of the new partner class are women, furthering the firm’s commitment to gender diversity in leadership.

Commenting on the milestone, Milton Cheng, Global Chair of Baker McKenzie, said:

“More than ever this year, it is an honor to announce our promotions to partner. I extend my sincere congratulations to this exceptionally talented group of lawyers who will help us continue to build on our strengths as a global Firm in a broad range of locations, practices, and sectors.
