AZB & Partners Announces Promotions: Pranjal Bhattacharya and Shruti Garg Elevated to Partner, Six Lawyers Made Counsel
The leading law firm in India, AZB & Partners has announced its latest round of promotions, elevating two lawyers to Partner and six lawyers to Counsel, effective April 1, 2026. The firm has promoted Pranjal Bhattacharya and Shruti Garg to Partner, while Archana Iyer, Cheryl F., Priya Tandon, Rohit Dutta, Shikhar Thukral, and Sourya Donkada have been elevated to Counsel.

1 Pranjal Bhattacharya
Pranjal Bhattacharya has been promoted to Partner at AZB & Partners. He has been with the firm for over four years, most recently serving as Counsel. His experience spans projects, energy, and infrastructure, having previously worked with leading law firms including Trilegal and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.
He brings strong expertise in advising on complex transactional and regulatory matters, supported by a diverse background across top-tier firms and in-house secondments.
2 Shruti Garg (MCIArb)
Shruti Garg has also been elevated to Partner. Prior to her promotion, she served as Counsel at AZB & Partners and has significant experience in dispute resolution and arbitration. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has previously worked with Khaitan & Co and Agarwal Law Associates.
Her practice focuses on arbitration, litigation, and complex dispute matters, supported by strong academic credentials including an LL.M. from USC Gould School of Law.
1 Archana Iyer
Archana Iyer has been promoted to Counsel at AZB & Partners. She has been associated with the firm for over three years and has progressed through multiple roles within the firm. She has also worked with J. Sagar Associates and Khaitan & Co.
Her experience spans corporate and advisory matters, backed by her academic background from the National University of Advanced Legal Studies.

2 Cheryl F.
Cheryl F. has been elevated to Counsel at AZB & Partners, where she has been associated for over nine years. Prior to her promotion, she served as Senior Associate and has extensive experience in litigation and arbitration.
Her practice covers corporate law, securities law, intellectual property, and criminal law. She previously worked with ALMT Legal and holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Information Technology from the University of Mumbai, along with an LL.B. from Government Law College, Mumbai.
3 Priya Tandon
Priya Tandon has been promoted to Counsel at AZB & Partners. She has been with the firm for over eight years, specialising in direct and international tax litigation and advisory.
Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a Legal Consultant at PwC and has experience as a research and teaching assistant at OP Jindal Global University. Her practice focuses on tax advisory and litigation, supported by diverse experience across regulatory and compliance matters.
4 Rohit Dutta
Rohit Dutta has been elevated to Counsel at AZB & Partners, where he has been associated for over eight years. He has advised on a wide range of corporate and transactional matters, including structuring, drafting, and negotiating agreements across sectors.
Prior to joining AZB, he worked as Deputy Manager – Legal at Narayana Health, where he handled complex healthcare transactions, compliance, and litigation matters. His experience includes advising on cross-border transactions, regulatory frameworks, and dispute management.

5 Shikhar Thukral
Shikhar Thukral has been promoted to Counsel, bringing extensive in-house and transactional experience to the firm. Prior to joining AZB & Partners, he served as Legal Manager at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited for over a decade.
He has advised on large-scale international projects, including LNG developments, cross-border investments, and project financing transactions. His expertise spans oil & gas, international arbitration, and regulatory advisory, supported by an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley.
6 Sourya Donkada
Sourya Donkada has been elevated to Counsel at AZB & Partners after nearly nine years with the firm. She has progressed from Associate to Senior Associate, gaining experience across corporate and advisory matters.
She holds an LL.B. from King’s College London and has also completed the Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University. Her academic and professional journey reflects a strong foundation in law, policy, and interdisciplinary studies.
