Ashok Kumar P Joins UltraTech Cement as Chief Legal Officer From ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel
UltraTech Cement has appointed Ashok Kumar P as Chief Legal Officer. Kumar, formerly General Counsel at ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS), brings over two decades of in-house counsel experience across diverse industries including steel, mining, ports, shipping, power, telecom, infrastructure, EPC, manufacturing, and renewables.
Kumar concluded his tenure at AM/NS yesterday, having served the company for five years and promoted to General Counsel last year. Prior to AM/NS, he held senior legal positions with JSW, ABB Power Grids, Areva, Moser Baer India, S Tel Pvt Ltd, and Hathway Cable and Datacom.
Commenting on his new role, Ashok Kumar P said,

Kumar holds a B.A LL.B degree from Government Law College, Chennai (1999–2004), where he was a top scorer in Intellectual Property Rights, and a Post Graduate Diploma in International Business Management from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT, 2009–2011).
His primary expertise lies in corporate law, litigation management, compliance, and contract administration within high-value, complex industrial sectors such as steel, mining, power, energy, and infrastructure.
