
Trilegal’s partnership has completed the vote to induct Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) Mumbai-based litigation partner, Nitesh Jain, as an equity partner.
The 2007 SLS Pune graduate, with an LLM from the London School of Economics (LSE), he had been a partner at SAM since 2016, having worked at precursor firm Amarchand Mangaldas since 2009 (with a one-year stint in 2014 opening his own chambers, and half a year as a consultant with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas before returning to SAM in 2015).
We have reached out to him, Trilegal and SAM for comment.
Delhi-based partner Shankh Sengupta is Trilegal’s head of the disputes practice area.
Sengupta had taken over the role from Sitesh Mukherjee, who had left around April 2020 to become an independent counsel.
Mukherjee had moved from Delhi to Mumbai in 2017 to build up Trilegal’s disputes footprint in the city; that remit has probably been inherited now by Jain.
