
Hon’ble Shri Justice Alpesh Yashwant Kogje, Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, paid heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary at Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur.
Jabalpur, 2nd October 2026: Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, commemorated the 157th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the birth anniversary of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. The occasion was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice Alpesh Yashwant Kogje, Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh and Chancellor of DNLU.
His Lordship paid floral tributes to the Father of the Nation and remembered Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring ideals of truth, non-violence and justice.
Dignitaries Grace the Occasion
Hon’ble Shri Justice Vivek Agarwal and Hon’ble Shri Justice Deepak Khot, Judges of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, also graced the occasion.

Musical Performance by Students
Musical performance by students Ms. Pragati Jha, Ms. Mouli Dixit, Ms. Ashwini Baghel, Ms. Nehal Yadav, Ms. Shreem Shukla and Mr. Arjun Pandey, who sang the bhajans “Vaishnav Jan To” and “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram,” enlivened the event.
Chief Justice Visits University’s Permanent Campus
Following the ceremony, the Hon’ble Chief Justice also visited the under-construction permanent campus of the University at Dumna Road, Jabalpur, and reviewed the progress of the work, expressing hope that the campus would soon be ready to provide a modern and conducive environment for legal education and research.
Dr. Gargi Chakrabarti, Dean of the Faculties, and Mrs. Sarita Rawat, Finance Controller, along with faculty members, staff members and students of the University, also assembled to pay their tributes.
The occasion served as a reminder to students and members of the University to carry these values forward in their academic and professional lives.
