Prayagraj, 11 August 2026: Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University, Prayagraj (RPNLUP) organised an Orientation Programme for the senior batches (2nd and 3rd year) of the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme on 11 August 2026 at the Academic Block of the University. The programme brought together the University administration, faculty members, dignitaries and students, with a focus on academic growth, institutional development and the diverse opportunities available in the legal profession.
Orientation Programme Begins with Ceremonial Opening
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana, followed by the University Kulgeet. The dignitaries present on the dais were thereafter felicitated by the University, formally marking the beginning of the programme.
University’s Growth and Academic Development Highlighted
Delivering the Welcome Address, Sr. Prof. (Dr.) Usha Tandon, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, RPNLUP, reflected with pride on the University’s continued growth and development. She highlighted the achievements of the senior batches, acknowledged their academic progress and expressed happiness at welcoming the third batch of the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme.
She also introduced the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour to the gathering and made special reference to a recent order of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Krishan Pahal, reading out a part of it and drawing the students’ attention to it as an example of judicial integrity worth emulating.

Students Encouraged to Explore Diverse Legal Careers
The Guest of Honour, Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Mishra, Registrar, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat, spoke about the journey of a growing national law university and the expanding scope of the legal profession.
He highlighted the wide range of opportunities available to law graduates beyond conventional legal practice, including judicial service, academia, corporate law, public policy, governance, research and several emerging fields. He encouraged students to remain open to these possibilities and to approach their legal education with curiosity and ambition.
Holistic Development Emphasised for Future Legal Professionals
Addressing the students, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Krishan Pahal, Allahabad High Court, Allahabad, spoke about the significance of holistic development in shaping a successful legal professional.
Drawing upon his professional experiences and referring to a book, he emphasised that legal knowledge alone does not define an accomplished lawyer. He highlighted the importance of communication, confidence, effective oratory and the ability to engage with people.

Programme Concludes with Vote of Thanks
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Neha Dubey, Assistant Professor, RPNLUP, followed by the National Song and National Anthem. The ceremony culminated with a group photograph, bringing the orientation programme to a close and setting the tone for a productive and enriching academic session ahead.
