JOB POST: Young Professional (Legal) at NHAI; 5 Vacancies, Salary Rs. 60,000/Month

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, has invited online applications from law graduates for engagement as Young Professional (Legal) at its LA Division, NHAI Headquarters. A total of 5 positions have been notified, and selection will be based on merit in the CLAT (Post Graduate) 2026 Score.

About the Recruitment

NHAI has invited applications from candidates holding a Degree in Law from a recognised University/National Law School/Institute for engagement as Young Professional (Legal) on a contractual basis. The selected candidates will be deployed at the LA Division, NHAI Headquarters. The engagement is purely contractual, and selection will be made on the basis of merit in the CLAT (Post Graduate) 2026 Score.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the position must possess:

1. A Degree in Law from a recognised University/National Law School/Institute; and

2. CLAT (Post Graduate) Score – 2026.

Age Limit

  • The candidate should be below 32 years of age as on the closing date of online applications.
  • The upper age limit is relaxable as per Government of India Rules applicable to different categories.

Selection Process

Selection for the position of Young Professional (Legal) will be made on the basis of merit in CLAT (Post Graduate) Score – 2026.

In case of a tie in the CLAT (PG) 2026 score, the candidate born earlier will be placed higher in the merit list. If the date of birth is also the same, merit will be determined according to the first letter in the English alphabet of the candidates’ initial names.

Nature of Engagement

The engagement will be on a contract basis.

Period of Contract

  • The initial engagement may be for a period of up to 2 years.
  • It may be extended by 1 additional year, depending upon NHAI’s requirements and satisfactory performance of the incumbent.
  • The contract will not be extended beyond a total period of 3 years under any circumstances. NHAI also reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time without assigning any reason.

Remuneration

  • The selected Young Professional (Legal) will receive an initial consolidated remuneration of Rs. 60,000 per month, inclusive of all.
  • The consolidated remuneration will be increased by 5% for each succeeding year, subject to satisfactory performance.

Reservation Conditions

  • OBC candidates applying for the position are required to submit an OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate issued during the year 2025-26.
  • Candidates seeking reservation as OBC-NCL or PwBD are required to submit certificates in the prescribed format meant for appointment to positions under the Government of India.
  • PwBD candidates should possess a latest Disability Certificate issued by a competent authority certifying that the degree of disability is not less than 40% of the specified disability.

The notification requires candidates to upload the following documents, as applicable:

  • Photograph: Scanned colour passport-size photograph.
  • Signature: Scanned copy of signature.
  • Class X Certificate: Certificate indicating date of birth.
  • Category Certificate: OBC-NCL certificate in the prescribed format, where applicable.
  • Law Degree: Degree in support of passing the Law qualification.
  • CLAT Score Card: Proof of CLAT (PG) 2026 Score Card.
  • PwBD Certificate: Proof of disability, where applicable.

Application Deadline

The online application form may be submitted up to September 8, 2026, till 6:00 PM.

Candidates have been advised to submit their applications well in advance instead of waiting for the closing date.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates must provide a correct and active email address, as correspondence from NHAI will be made through email only.
  • The selection process will be carried out on the basis of the entries made by the applicant in the online application form. Requests for subsequent alteration, modification or change in the entries will not be entertained.
  • Where multiple applications are submitted by the same candidate, NHAI will consider only the last application submitted.
  • Applications submitted through any mode other than the prescribed online mode will not be accepted.
  • The crucial date for determining eligibility will be the last date prescribed for submission of online applications.
  • Candidates belonging to Minority Communities, women and PwBD categories are encouraged to apply.
  • Any corrigendum, addendum or cancellation relating to the recruitment will be published only on the NHAI website.
