
Union Bank of India has invited online applications for 30 Law Officer vacancies under the Union Bank Recruitment Project 2026-27. The appointments will be made on a regular basis in Scales II, III, IV and V. Eligible law graduates may apply online by August 10, 2026.

Union Bank of India is conducting the Union Bank Recruitment Project 2026-27 for the recruitment of officers with domain expertise, General Banking Officers and Specialist Officers.
This post covers only the Law Officer vacancies notified under the Specialist Officers segment. All the Law Officer appointments are regular appointments.

Selected candidates may be posted at any branch or office of Union Bank of India throughout India, at the sole discretion of the Bank.
Educational Qualification
- Law Officer, Scale V: Bachelor’s degree in Law with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a university or institute recognised by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies.
- Law Officer, Scale IV: Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Law Officer, Scale III: Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Law Officer, Scale II: Bachelor’s degree in Law.
The educational qualification must be completed on or before August 10, 2026.
Eligibility
- Law Officer, Scale V: Minimum 15 years of total post-qualification experience as a practising Advocate and/or Law Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank, PSU, State Government department, Central Government department or government entity. Out of the total experience, at least 10 years must be as a Law Officer in any of the specified organisations.
- Law Officer, Scale IV: Minimum 11 years of total post-qualification experience as a practising Advocate and/or Law Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank, PSU, State Government department, Central Government department or government entity. Out of the total experience, at least 7 years must be as a Law Officer in any of the specified organisations.
- Law Officer, Scale III: Minimum 7 years of total post-qualification experience as a practising Advocate and/or Law Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank, PSU, State Government department, Central Government department or government entity. Out of the total experience, at least 4 years must be as a Law Officer in any of the specified organisations.
- Law Officer, Scale II: Minimum 3 years of total post-qualification experience as a practising Advocate and/or Law Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank, PSU, State Government department, Central Government department or government entity. The period of legal practice and service will be added to calculate the total experience.
The cut-off date for determining post-qualification experience is August 10, 2026.
Age Limit
- Law Officer, Scale V: Maximum 45 years
- Law Officer, Scale IV: Maximum 40 years
- Law Officer, Scale III: Minimum 25 years and maximum 35 years
- Law Officer, Scale II: Minimum 22 years and maximum 30 years
Age will be calculated as on July 1, 2026.
Relaxation in the upper age limit is available as follows:
- Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: 5 years
- Other Backward Classes—Non-Creamy Layer candidates: 3 years
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years
- Eligible Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers: 5 years
- Persons affected by the 1984 riots: 5 years
Salary / Pay Scale / Remuneration
- Law Officer, Scale II: ₹64,820–2,340/1–67,160–2,680/10–93,960; approximate annual CTC of ₹21 lakh
- Law Officer, Scale III: ₹85,920–2,680/5–99,320–2,980/2–1,05,280; approximate annual CTC of ₹25 lakh
- Law Officer, Scale IV: ₹1,02,300–2,980/4–1,14,220–3,360/2–1,20,940; approximate annual CTC of ₹30 lakh
- Law Officer, Scale V: ₹1,20,940–3,360/2–1,27,660–3,680/2–1,35,020; approximate annual CTC of ₹38 lakh
Selected officers will also be eligible for applicable special allowance, dearness allowance, residential quarters or lease rent, leave fare concession, medical or hospitalisation reimbursement and other benefits under the Bank’s policy.
The approximate CTC may vary depending on the place of posting, dearness allowance, wage revision, Bank schemes and applicable staff benefits.
Selection Process
- For Law Officer posts in Scales II and III, the selection process may include an online examination, Group Discussion, if required, and/or Personal Interview.
- For Law Officer posts in Scales IV and V, the selection process may include Group Discussion, another test or assessment and/or Personal Interview.
- The Bank may conduct preliminary screening before calling candidates for further stages.
- For Specialist Officer posts up to Scale III, the online examination may contain 50 multiple-choice questions on professional knowledge relevant to the post. The examination will carry 100 marks and have a duration of 60 minutes.
- A penalty of one-fourth or 25% of the marks assigned to a question will be imposed for each incorrect answer in the online examination.
- The Personal Interview will carry 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 50 for General and EWS candidates and 45 for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates, wherever applicable.
- Final selection will be based on the applicable merit list prepared from the online examination, Group Discussion, other assessment and/or Personal Interview conducted by the Bank.

- SC, ST and PwBD candidates: ₹177, inclusive of GST
- UR, EWS and OBC candidates: ₹1,180, inclusive of GST
Bank transaction charges for online payment must be borne by the candidate. The application fee is non-refundable.

- Click on the online application link.
- Select “Click here for New Registration” and enter the required name, contact and email details.
- Note the provisional registration number and password generated by the system.
- Complete the application form and upload the photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration in the prescribed format.
- Preview and verify the complete application before selecting “Complete Registration”.
- Pay the applicable fee through the online payment gateway.
- Submit the application and retain a printout of the application form and electronic receipt for future reference.

Important Instructions
- A candidate may apply for only one post under the recruitment project.
- If multiple applications are submitted, only the last valid and complete application will be retained.
- Candidates must possess a valid personal email address and mobile number and keep them active throughout the recruitment process.

- Candidates should apply well before the closing date to avoid technical or connectivity problems.
- Applicants serving in Government offices, public sector undertakings, nationalised banks or financial institutions must produce an original No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.
- Candidates called for interview must produce the system-generated application form and the prescribed original documents with self-attested photocopies.
- Selected candidates will remain on probation for two years of active service from the date of joining.
- Candidates selected for the Specialist Officer posts must execute a service indemnity bond to serve the Bank for at least three years or pay ₹2,50,000 plus applicable taxes if they leave before completing the required service.
