Faten joins MBH following an illustrious career spanning over a decade in the Structured Finance team at the Paris-based law firm, Gide Loyrette Nouel, where she advised on major multi-jurisdictional and local transactions across Europe and Africa. Her experience encompasses structuring and negotiating complex project and real estate financing deals in the infrastructure, transport, energy, and real estate sectors, collaborating closely with international lenders, multilateral institutions, debt funds, and institutional investors.
With her deep international expertise and extensive experience in one of the world’s most sophisticated legal hubs, Faten Anis brings valuable insights and global perspectives to MBH’s expanding regional footprint. Her appointment strengthens the firm’s ability to support clients in their African ventures and cross-border investments.

About Faten Anis
Faten Anis is a Partner at Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy and a member of the Finance and Projects practice group. She is qualified to practice in both Egypt and France. Faten advises lenders—including credit institutions, multilateral institutions, insurance companies, and debt funds—as well as borrowers, including SPVs, corporates, real estate companies, and investment funds, on a wide range of financing transactions. Her expertise covers project finance, real estate finance, LBOs, bond issuances, corporate financing, and debt restructuring. She has successfully worked on major transactions across France, Egypt, and other jurisdictions in EMEA.
Practice Focus
Faten’s practice focuses on banking and financing transactions across Africa, including project finance, real estate finance, structured finance, corporate lending, and debt restructuring, with particular expertise in infrastructure, energy, transport, and real estate sectors.
Experience
Faten Anis joined Matouk Bassiouny as Partner in April 2026 in Cairo, Egypt. Prior to this, she served as Counsel and Associate at Gide Loyrette Nouel from 2017 to 2025 in Paris, France. She also gained valuable experience through internships at Herbert Smith Freehills, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, Baker & McKenzie, Hamza et El Wazzan, Lafarge, and AHK Frankreich (CFACI).
Education
Faten holds an MBA/Masters in Law and Management from Université Panthéon Assas (Paris II), Executive Education in Corporate Finance from HEC Paris, and an LL.M. in Corporate Law from Université Panthéon Assas (Paris II). She also earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Cairo University and Université Panthéon Assas (Paris II).
