Baker McKenzie Advised Egypt Kuwait Holding (EKH) on its Exit from Delta Insurance Company through a Mandatory Tender Offer (MTO)
The leading law firm in Egypt, Baker McKenzie Cairo, has advised Egypt Kuwait Holding (EKH) on its exit from Delta Insurance Company, a publicly listed insurer in Egypt, through a Mandatory Tender Offer (MTO) presented by Wafa Assurance. This transaction marks the first acquisition of an insurance company under Egypt’s new insurance law, which came into effect in 2024.
The Baker McKenzie Cairo team advising EKH was led by Mohamed Ghannam (Managing Partner) and Hani Nassef (Partner), with support from Mohamed Abdelhalim (Senior Associate), Omar Zaki (Associate), and Dr. Amgad Yousry (Associate), bringing together deep expertise in public M&A, capital markets, and regulatory compliance.
This deal underscores Baker McKenzie Cairo’s strong track record in capital market transactions in Egypt, following its advisory role in United Bank’s IPO on the EGX (Egyptian Exchange) — the country’s largest IPO since 2021.
