Stephenson Harwood Expands into Saudi Arabia with Three-Partner Launch Across Riyadh and Al Khobar

The global law firm, Stephenson Harwood, has announced its expansion into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the launch of two new offices in Riyadh and Al Khobar, led by a three-partner team. This move marks a significant milestone in the firm’s Middle East growth strategy and aligns with the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving business and investment landscape.

As part of this expansion, Marcus Latta, a seasoned corporate partner joining from Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle, will be based in Riyadh. With over two decades of experience in Saudi Arabia since 2003, Marcus brings deep regional expertise and will be joined by two associates.

They will work alongside Tammy Samuel, commercial and regulatory transport partner and newly appointed Head of Saudi Arabia, and Khurram Ali, partner in the firm’s marine, trade, and offshore practice, who will lead the Al Khobar operations.

The Saudi Arabia practice will initially focus on key sectors such as transport, marine, energy and infrastructure, construction, litigation, private wealth, and finance.

Tammy Samuel, said,
“With one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, Saudi Arabia is attracting substantial interest and investment,Having a presence in the country is a natural next step in the development of our Middle East practice and enhances the support we can provide to regional and international clients investing there.”

Eifion Morris, CEO of Stephenson Harwood, said,
“We want to carve out a distinct position by leveraging our strengths as a European, Middle Eastern, and Asian firm. This strategic investment reflects our confidence in Saudi Arabia as a market full of potential and opportunity, which we are well placed to service.”

Stephenson Harwood first entered the Middle East in 2012 with the opening of its Dubai office, which has since seen significant growth under Rania Tadros, the firm’s newly appointed Middle East Managing Partner. Over the past five years, the firm has more than doubled its regional revenue and partner headcount, reinforcing its commitment to the Middle East as a key growth market.
