Khaitan & Co advised Japan Bank for International Cooperation on loan facility to State Bank of India
The leading law firm Khaitan & Co advised Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) on a loan facility extended to State Bank of India (SBI), via its branch in GIFT City, Gujarat. The facility was co‑financed by Mizuho Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), and The Bank of Yokohama, Ltd.
The proceeds will be utilised by SBI to finance lending programs for eligible automotive component enterprises, automotive dealers, automotive financiers, and electric vehicle (EV) charging station developers and projects in India.
The Khaitan & Co team was led by Devidas Banerji (Partner), with support from Arindam Bhattacharjee (Principal Associate) and Sushmit Mandal (Associate).
