The leading Indian law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Bangalore International Airport Limited and its wholly owned subsidiary Bengaluru Airport City Limited (“BACL”) on a long-term sub-lease with Prestige Group for the development of a state-of-the-art Convention and Exhibition Centre within the Bengaluru Airport City.
This significant transaction stands out for its scale, strategic location and high-profile stakeholders, integrated infrastructure, and regulatory and urban planning nuances. The deal involved extensive commercial negotiations, structuring of lease rights, development milestones, and operational covenants tailored to airport infrastructure guidelines. It marks a major real estate development on airport land, combining private development expertise and public infrastructure vision to create a flagship event destination in South India. The Convention Centre is envisioned as one of the largest of its kind in South India and aims to become a premier venue for international conferences, exhibitions, and large-scale formal events.
