Corey Wright and Lisa Collier Join Paul Hastings to Strengthen Global Finance Practice
Paul Hastings LLP has announced that leading finance attorneys Corey Wright and Lisa Collier have joined the firm as partners in New York, marking another significant expansion of its premier Global Finance platform.
Joining from Latham & Watkins LLP, Wright—widely recognized in the banking sector as one of the top finance lawyers globally and Band 1-ranked by Chambers USA—and Collier add further depth to Paul Hastings’ market-leading Banking & Finance practice. Both advise major banks and financial institutions on complex leveraged finance transactions spanning high-yield bonds and bank financings, debt and equity offerings, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, bridge lending, secured and unsecured lending, acquisition financings, and more. Before Latham, the pair also practiced together at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP.
Frank Lopez, Chair of Paul Hastings, said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Corey and Lisa. Their longstanding relationships serving top-tier financial institutions are highly synergistic with many of our core practices. Corey’s reputation is stellar as one of a handful, if not the leading, finance practitioner of his generation. Corey and Lisa’s arrival will further elevate our position as the go-to firm for complex, high-stakes financings and create significant opportunities to gain even more market share at the top of the market.”
Together, Wright and Collier have advised top investment banks, direct lenders, and major domestic financial institutions including Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, and Morgan Stanley.
Most recently, the duo served as co-counsel for the tender offer and consent solicitation related to the Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. separation, and represented the lead bookrunner and administrative agent for the $17.5 billion leveraged bridge loan agreement.
Their other notable matters include a $4 billion high-yield loan for Rocket Companies, Inc., representing lenders on Databricks’ $5.25 billion credit facilities, advising on the financing of OpenAI’s $4 billion credit facility, and guiding multiple high-value notes offerings and secondary sales for companies like Restaurant Brands International Inc., Aramark, and Truist Financial Corporation.
“We’re excited to join a practice of this caliber and to reunite with several former colleagues,” said Wright. “Paul Hastings has built a dominant position in various financings and direct lending, and we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to be part of a firm delivering high-impact, market-shaping work for clients across the capital spectrum. I am particularly pleased to be able to continue collaborating with Lisa, who has been instrumental to building my practice.”
“The firm’s impressive trajectory has been impossible to ignore. We look forward to working with our new colleagues—including some familiar faces—and helping to author the next chapter of Paul Hastings’ success story as it further expands its premier global finance presence,” added Collier.
Wright has been consistently recognized by Chambers USA, The Legal 500 U.S., and IFLR1000 as a market leader. Collier has been named a Top Woman in Specialty Finance by ABF Journal and highlighted in The Secured Lender’s Women in Secured Finance feature.
Their addition strengthens Paul Hastings’ top-ranked Global Finance practice, recently ranked number one by deal count in LSEG’s Q1 2025 Global Legal Syndicated Loans League Tables and Band 1 by Chambers USA for Banking & Finance and Private Credit. The practice represents nearly every major investment bank and direct lender worldwide.
