Khaitan & Co advised Plus500 Ltd on its 100% acquisition of Mehta Equities Limited, a move that marks Plus500’s strategic entry into India’s vast and well-established financial sector. The acquisition, valued at approximately USD 20 million, is subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
This transaction enables Plus500 to expand its geographic footprint into India’s rapidly growing financial industry, including futures trading. India, the largest retail trading market globally, recorded over 150 billion contracts traded in 2024, representing over 75% of the global transaction volume. Khaitan & Co provided strategic legal guidance to navigate the regulatory complexities of the deal.
