Uber Files Suit Against DoorDash In Superior Court Of California On Anti-Competitive Practices

Claims it compelled restaurants to use its services exclusively

Uber Technologies has filed a lawsuit against DoorDash in the Superior Court of California, accusing it of anticompetitive practices.

It complained against the online delivery firm for coercing restaurants into using DoorDash as their exclusive or sole preferred provider for delivery, leading to higher costs for restaurants and customers.

Uber’s lawsuit stated, “DoorDash’s underhanded tactics have cost Uber millions of dollars and unlawfully restricted its ability to grow Uber Direct, the Uber Eats platform for first-party delivery.”

However, a spokesperson for DoorDash claimed the case was baseless and Uber’s claims were based on its inability to offer merchants, consumers or couriers a quality alternative.
